Any Advice ?

Doctor said the test I had last week, suggested I am predisposed to diabetics, I suspected that would be be the case, as my mother had it. I am a couple of stone overweight, , I like to walk each day and keep to a fairly healthy diet, don't drink or smoke.I am in my mid 60's.
Having a job getting my weight down as I have an addiction to food, which is an emotional issue due to stress, but most days I can now control it with help.
Any thing I can do to help myself further ?I have knee and back problems so some exercises are not suitable for me.

You don't drink, you don't smoke but we don't know how your blood pressure is.
You main problem is eating too much.............try to cut down on the amount you eat, I know it isn't easy, but that may well stave off the onset of Type 2 diabetes.
If you can't...then you can't.....just keep your fingers crossed and repeat your blood tests every 6 months.
Yes, swimming is good for you if you have access to a pool, but it isn't likely to be as effective as reducing your food intake.
