Side Effects Of Giving Up Smoking !
18 Answers
My husband , after smoking heavily for 40yrs ,he started young, has suddenly decided to vape and lo and behold it's blooming working !He is still on the nicotine one but i'm astonished, that's been over 2wks :O
He's started going through the withdrawals, which he didn't expect at all, he has started the coughing with gunge but what's concerning him the most is that he's sweating like you've never seen before when he has eaten and it's concerning him....he's almost stripping off he's so hot.
We've googled like mad, really to no avail so I thought i'd ask you good people what your 'withdrawal' symptoms were/are and if sweating after eating was one ;)
BTW....he loves vaping, he'll never smoke again. Whoever invented them deserves recognition ! He was the one person I 'knew' would *never* give up...just shows you !!

''the badness being expelled'' 'the power of nicotine compels you'... something like that? Is he spouting foul language whilst his head spins through 360 degrees as well :)

Smoking knocks out the lung mechanism which moves dust particles up the pipes to where they can be swallowed. When you give up this comes back into working order so there is a cough and phlegm. This can last two or three years and is a serious obstacle. Many lapse because they can't tolerate this symptom.
Thank you Hyp....the coughing and phlegm he can handle and was prepped for as I gave up 15yrs ago and wowsee anyone who smokes again after going through that would be nuts !!
It's the sweating he's really really struggling with, after eating a meal. It surely must a bonus, like he he is getting more blood and oxygen to enable him to digest but I can't find anything to suggest that's the reason.
Huge bonus...he has to walk miles as part of his job, he now climbs hills without a pause and that's after only 2+ weeks. It's amazing, i'm very proud of him , only trying to get info so he's not discouraged .

Horseshoes...I gave up pre vaping and patches really but a bad chest infection swayed it for me....to breathe or not to breathe..it was a no brainer.. for me anyway.I'm very happy btw and i'm no saint, it was do or die at the time...or so it felt !! :) Sqad's incapicitated atm ;)Thaks for your feedback...he's getting paranoid now so any nugget where he doesn't feel alone will help him !
That's interesting welsh as i've noticed he's hotter and sweatier than usual between the sheets ....not in that way sadly :) Thank you, I think that will help him as well. he works outdoors so given the present climate he hasn't been unduly bothered with high temps so maybe the the difference between work and home is a little extreme for him and sweating could be a side affect....just co-inciding with him eating. Thank you and well done !

When I gave up there's no denying, I put on weight. Always had a good appetite anyway, but giving up meant I could now taste everything properly.
Besides the benefits to the heart/respiratory system, he won't smell(well, not as bad until he completely gives up the nicotine vape), will have more money, more energy, will appear happier, more confident and have that smug, satisfied look as he sees all the 'snoutcasts' huddled together in their little shelters as the rain is coming in sideways in a howling gale!
What's not to like?

snags...think you've nailed it. We went to my daughters today, 10 minutes into the journey he discovered he hadn't charged his ecig...he came out in a cold sweat and was on the point of buying fags....habit ! He used to worry 5 fags up on an hour journey !
trt....he is coughing it up big style. Anyone who smokes after seeing that must have a death wish :O Well done you !
jourdain2....he has actually lost weight (there's no justice !) as his job is very physical and he is able to do much more now as he feels fitter than anytime in his life....still sweats though ;) You're right...well worth it, i'm very proud of him !

Thank you methyl.
A truly expansive reply, appreciated.
As we're Scottish we don't pay for scripts, in fact we can bypass the GP and we can sign up up with our Pharmacist for minor ailments which means we don't have to pay for OTC meds which normally would entail a trip to the Docs. Makes sense....I haven't blooming well done it yet ...would have saved me £4.99 yesterday if I had !
Anyway my husband decided to go solo....he bought an ECig and I have to say in fairness he missed his Ecig being charged than a cig so i'm happy for him too go with the the vaping, forever if necessary.
He is a cantankerous *** at the moment, he doesn't miss the fags but he clearly after solid smoking for 40yrs is going through a big withdrawal, he must be? Surely? He however is starting the 'big cough' ...had I not gone through it myself I wouldn't have believed it, I thought I was ill, little did I know that was the badness being expelled, the human body doesn't get the credit it deserves.
Still, he is seeing the benefits are far outweighing the the negatives...I remain astonished and absolutely in awe of him for choosing a life with me and mine over the inevitable destruction fags cause...he really must want to live ....or he truly would have a death wish ;)

to my surprise I've never witnessed such symptoms of quitting smoking ever at all. Or even switching to e cigs can harm this way is out of the question to me. But you should then consult a doctor if you think google didn't help too. Sweating after eating maybe is the symptom of high BP n they feel hot because of inner burning too sometimes.
For me tobacco cigarettes are not acceptable at all and I truly support vaping, you cann check here http:// hazekra ze.com/ reasons -why-tr adition al-ciga rettes- are-on- the-dec line/ and thet's pretty awesome that people are moving towards thee vaping which is way safer than smoking. then how come your husband got such health issues after quitting it is something unbelievable for me and I think there must be nay other reason behind which you should must give a checkup from doc.
