I am supposed to have my pre op tests done now for the RadioFrequency op on my turbinates. But as I am taking antibiotics and steroids for this other problem, I suppose I have to wait until that treatment ends ? Will I have to wait a few days or could I have the blood test done the day after I stop the treatments ? Logically I suppose I would have to wait a few days, but does anyone know how long ?

I meant Pre Op tests, not Pete Op
best bet is to phone the hospital or GP and ask

Yep woofie. You are right. Stupid me. I will ask the GP when I go for my checkup next week.
No big deal.......the blood tests can be done even though you are taking antibiotics and steroids as the anesthetist will be looking for other blood factors.

Reduction of turbinates by radio frequency is not a long or complicated procedure and in the USA it is done under local anaesthesia in the " office."

Yes, Sqad. I am having it done in the ENT's own surgery. He said also just with local anaesthetic ( similar to the soaked bandage he stuffed up my nostrils when he shoved up the camera ) unpleasant but bearable. Also promised to give me a Valium to keep under my tongue ¿?. Apparently down here there's are very few ENT who actually have this device in their surgeries , so mostly get's done with general anaesthetic in the hospitals. Lucky me ! ( or not )
Well....if it is being done under local anaesthesia..........why the need for blood tests?

The NHS confuses me at times...;-)

Not NHS Sqad. Sanitas here in Spain.

No offence, but I think Drs. try to bill as much as possible to private insurance companies.
Sorry....I had forgotten that you live in Spain.
