I returned to the Swiss German GP today for a set of Ultra Sounds and blood test results (Full test).
I was only expecting an Ultra sound of my liver , but he did the full works.
He checked Kidneys , Gallbladder, prostate, liver, Spleen , bladder ....etc etc
I had to do test with a full bladder and then empty.
Anyway all the tests were ok.
I asked him about the enlarged liver and he said that I don't.
He said it was done by feel last week and now ultrasound confirmed it was ok. Phew !
Only issues he found were - He called it a knot of veins in liver and it was round and small and not an issue !!! .... Need to Google that one.
He did name it in Swiss German.
Also said I have very small stones in Gallbladder ....not an issue he said.
He commented on my cholesterol was a bit above high score.
High marker was a 5.0 and I had a 6.0.

Anyway thanks for the replies and putting my mind at rest last week.

So he wants me to exercise more and see him again in 3 months time.
He also wants to another scan in 6 months time ...revenue generating maybe ...but I don't care :-)

The system here takes some getting used to.
Seems full checks every year is a standard thing.
Maybe when I return to the UK it's something I will fund myself once a year.
One thing for sure ...you do miss the NHS when you step abroad.
Yes I can fund the insurance and 700 GBP a year excess, but if you could not then it would be a worry. ie DR wants to do tests and you are concerned about funding it.

Remember what the NHS provides and what life would be like in a semi private public funded health system when you vote Thursday :-)

Exercise starts Wednesday.
1 mile walk to work and 1 mile return. Bonus is view of Alps I get during Walk on a clear day. Will also start lunch time walks also.
