Statins

Now my health isnt the greatest as in energy wise but lately have found am having a nap (never in a thousand years) in the afternoon as i am exhausted.
In the morning it takes me a minute or two to get to the bathroom and while I want to walk most days I just cant - try to get to the park for Maxie.
I am on medication but the only ones that I have very serious thoughts are the statins. I had stopped taking them many moons ago but then since two bros died of heart trouble started taken them and find would it be them giving me this lethargy and joint trouble. Anybody know. Ta

The above symptoms certainly are the side effects of statins that some people do experience, BUT they are also the symptoms of other medical conditions e.g diabetes, under-active thyroid and depressive illnesses. I suppose the only way of sorting it out, is to have blood tests to exclude the disorders mentioned above OR stop taking the statins and see what happens ton your symptoms.
You will need to discus this with your GP as it may be just a matter of changing to another statin and of course is the trade of between feeling ill and preventing a heart attack or stroke, worth it.

thanks sqad for your answer - I am for the doctor's actually "pharmacy" in the doctor's surgery (first time in my life) and I will say to him. But I am going to take myself off them anyway starting from today. Yesterday I was coming up the street and swaying all over the bloody place mostly with exhaustion. I was carrying a load of messages but nevertheless never felt like that. Although never would have Gness' strength or illness but by god I could do a thing or two in the house - I am a pretty good DIY person but I was lucky to get the house hoovered. In the name of the Lord what did your parents do - I know they took literally nothing. My dad never took a pill all his life until he died.
