Personally I can't help thinking the associated recommendations (get warm all over and stay warm throughout the night with hot water bottle or electric blanket) are probably more efficacious.

Seasonal Flu, What a load of C*b*l*rs, I'm in my 60's, I've had Real Flu once in my life, just after I left the RMs, there I am, big strong fit guy crawling to the ensuite 'cause I couldn't walk, laid me out for 4 maybe 5 days, they're talking about Man Flu, shrug it off, get over it!

Me too. I've only ever had real flu once and I was laid out for a week.

My Italian mum used to pour sugar over sliced onions,I was then given the syrup whenever I had a cold or sore throat. Sounds awful,but I loved it.
