Hello Everyone..some Advice Needed For My New Friend

She will be 36 weeks pregnant on friday and has a growth scan on the 15th dec due to gestational diabetes. It wasn't very controlled and now she is on insulin 3 times a day. She wants to know whether they will induce her and how soon after the scan? They have mentioned they will at 38 weeks, but i told her its around xmas day that time and now she is even more anxious (my big gob) so i am asking what may happen so i can prepare her. Tell me what you all know. thanks x

Hello hun, all is going fine. Little Polly is thriving and talks like a doll. So proud of her and the others. Tough kids i have. We have made some new friends and i have started doing more with the children, i.e activities. i have my confidence back. I feel great and looking for work. I am so sorry to hear about your loss xxx. Keep your chin up hun. It takes time, but there is always light at the end...you also try and enjoy christmas, although i know it will be a challenging one. xx

What a good question and bednobs is correct.

Let us look at this very simply.....a woman, 36weeks pregnant with uncontrolled GD ( we don't know the age of the patient or whether she is a primigravida)

Scan on the 15Dec ( one week before Xmas) my guess would be, depending upon the size of the baby, they will induce her or offer her a Caesarian section within 24 hours of the scan (Dec 16)

Look at it this way: who wants a woman with uncontrolled GD with a big baby hanging about still undelivered at Christmas?
Get my point?
