I have been using this in combination now for a couple of weeks and it has worked really well. My teeth will never be white but the worst of the staining has diminished Farley well.

However my teeth are now much more sensitive to hot and cold drinks and food.

Is this usual as in has it in some way stripped my teeth of some sort of protection or coincidence?

Thanks

I think this is how all over the counter teeth whiteners work - bit like sanding off the top layer! Switch to Sensodyne now.
Same advice as Prudie
I'd start to use a "sensitive" toothpaste (own-brands far cheaper than Sensodyne and just as effective) six days a week and use the whitening stuff one day a week.
Or...you can get formulations which are "whitening AND de-sensitising" - probably a good compromise.
yes its usual. My sis looked into teeth whitening and the dentist said “Well you can....but......
What they need to develop is a white stain to go over the yellow, not try to strip off the yellow.
IMHO - anything that is considered a whitening has to remove the top layer of whatever it's whitening - or it's bleaching it - either way the top layer is compromised and the top layer is the protective layer.
