Hemicrania Continua

A close friend of mine was diagnosed with this debilitating illness over 2 years ago and has spells when she is relatively free of pain using indomethacin, this is only temporary and she can be floored with the pain and drained for weeks at a time. She has tried everything from acupuncture, hypnosis and getting a daith ring but it still goes on.
We live in Scotland but her husband who is a psychiatrist has pulled a few strings and she is going down to King's College in London for a week of tests to see what can be done to help her. I have read that this condition has no cure and I just wonder if anyone has any experience or knowledge about this.

I used to have Migraines, not now thankfully , but that sounds so debilitating - I wonder if something like this in this article may help her. It helped this lady and was from King's College specialists too, I wish her well....
