Dry Mouth
13 Answers
A while back I posted that I had a ridiculously dry mouth on waking up; like, no saliva whatsoever in my mouth. At that time I had a bit of a cold so put it down to that. But I still have it. It feels like a coating on the inside of my mouth- slightly chalky and like I have to keep swallowing. Water doesn't seem to help but a very strong throat sweet does temporarily. I've had this for a couple of months. I don't actually feel thirsty, particularly. I hope it's not diabetes- is that an actual thirst that you feel or just lack of saliva?

If you had a cold you might have some residual blocking of the sinuses or inflammation in the nasal passages that would make breathing through your nose difficult which is why you subconciously breathe through your mouth in your sleep. I certainly wouldn`t bother a GP about it at this stage.
