Chiropractors?

Chiropractors, has anybody used one, was it a good experience? Are some of them charlatans?

I have used one. I had a horrible pain in my back and hip that felt it just needed a tweak to put it right. I was trying all kinds of bending and twisting but nothing worked.
I went to the chiropractor who twisted me and dug his thumbs in until something went 'click' and it was fine.

I can't say that they are all as good, of course. In any profession there are good ones and bad ones. I don't believe they are all charlatans, anyway.

Basically the same as Cloverjo; bad back, doctor, hospital nor voltarol could help. Finished up seeing a wonderful lady who put me right in 6 weeks, with a series of twists, tweeks, neck crunches, etc. Was sorry when she'd sorted me out because I used to look forward to what she would do that week. Fascinating subject.

I used a Osteopath 30 years ago and felt so much better after the series of treatment, if that is any help ?

Have used a Chiropractor for years, have a regular "MOT" every 3 months or sooner if needed. They vary greatly on price and effectiveness so would suggest, if you are thinking about going, try and get lots of info : testimonials etc., and compare prices between chiropractors. The lady I see charges £55 for the initial consultation which lasts about 1.5 hours (or thereabouts) which includes a medical history chat, problems and then 30 mins treatment.Subsequent visits are £45 for 30 - 45 mins treatment. I know of somebody recently who was charged £50 for 20 minutes treatment ! Hope this helps.

Try a McTimoney chiropractor. Or, if you are anywhere near the McTimoney school of Chiropractic, (I think it is still in Abingdon) go as a student clinic patient. Cheaper, maybe needing more time, but closely supervised by a senior tutor. They take meticulous care of you.
