Doxycycline Antibiotic

I have just been prescribed Doxycycline, 100mg twice daily,(2 wks supply) for an infected sebaceous cyst.(I had previously been on Flucloxacillin 500mg 4 times daily which didn't clear it up.) My qn is about drinking alcohol. It says on the label that it is advisable to avoid drinking any alcohol as it may reduce the effect of the medicine. I have read differing views on internet sites. Some say avoid totally, yet others say drink in moderation. Do you think it would be okay to drink wine with meals at the weekend if I don't drink at all during the week?

Yes......in my opinion a glass of wine with your meals would be fine.
