Neuropathy

is a pain in the...hip.
Thanks to the Abscess being on a nerve it's triggered my Proximal Neuropathy in my hip and my leg.
Can just about wear clothing, hate bed time and I can't inject.
Paracetamol and Ibuprofen take the edge off - but is it worth speaking to my GP about.

You have not said where and what type the "abscess" presented and may have nothing to do with Proximal Neuropathy.
If your diabetes is under control.
If your pain is under control.
If your abscess is being treated with antibiotics.
What more can a doctor do?
The pain is the problem and your two analgesics are a good choice.
No.....a Dr is not required.
Monitor the situation for the next 3-4 days.

Thank you for your answers.
Sqad, the abscess was down in the nether regions (on the pubis) it was fairly large in size. It was treated with antibiotics which I finished on Sunday. I had salt baths and dressed it as best I could and it burst on Wednesday last week. It's been seeping a clear/yellow tinged liquid the last few days but before that pus and blood. They ran in mums side of the family sadly so I guess was inevitable I'd get them at some point.
Diabetes is steady, had complications with one of my insulins. I'm running between 8-14 at the moment.
The pain is ok but if I move or touch it or if anything rubs it it is very painful.
I was diagnosed with Neuropathy in 2006 but I don't get it often and when I do it's always where it is at present.
Thank you for your answers.

Sounds like it hasn't drained properly Queenie.
Had one years ago in the nether regions and found Mr Alba's underwear quite comfortable.
Saw the doc, was sent to hossie, it was ugh, and had district nurse in for a week afterwards.
Was quite interesting dealing with that and having a 3 month old to take care of. :-) x

Thank you Sqad...thought at first Shingles but ruled that out as it's been too long for a rash to appear.
Thank you Alba...that does sound tricky! My uncle got them but they grew inwards. I take after mum it would seem.
Might need a Dr now though had to run home and back to the shop - left my bleeding kit at home - oops.
I do Anne...I've just had enough - I need holidays lol.
