Menopause And Eczema

Morning all, I'm looking for information from real people. I've just started the joys of menopause and although I've never had eczema before, I have now - confirmed by GP. I've looked on t'internet and have seen that it's not uncommon and what I can do to help myself (as well as the ointments given by GP). What I wonder is, has anyone else had this and will it last forever now? It's a right pain in my hands, which I work with. Another thing I thought of, I'm going to try some stuff from Holland & Barrett for the sweats - does anyone know if these might affect the eczema?

Hopefully the creams given by the GP will help the Eczema and it shouldn't necessarily last.
You're right to check whether any herbal remedies will disagree with other meds, hopefully they will know in store.

Yes, I am "getting towards that age" LOL and I have the same thing. I haven't been to a doctor but I have self diagnosed with eczema. It started a few years ago as patches around my upper arms and I now have the odd patch in other places. I don't think it is psoriasis. It calms down in the summer and flares up in the winter. When the patches are red and itchy I use 1% hydrocortisone cream which reduces the inflammation but never really gets rid of the eczema
Morning, I had to go to go to the GP - my hand looked as though it had been dipped in boiling water. The ointment I have is just a little bit stronger than 1% and has worked really well (although, being an ointment it is very greasy). I hope the eczema doesn't last for as long as the hot flushes apparently may do... Good luck to you. I wish we were all as lucky as Mamyalynne!
