Hi Sqad - I am a bit worried here.

My sista is an extremely independent person and even when she is unwell would never tell me.

However she has had a terrible cough for a couple of weeks now and has been to the doctors - is supposed to take inhaler - I saw on Sunday and I know she wasn't taking it correctly.

However an extremely unusual thing for her to ring me and just "I feel funny" - I said why way - don't know - can't get the words out. She thinks it could be the medication etc.

I genuinely don't know what to do as I going to head off to her house now - can you advise please. thanks

In a million years she would never ring me at this time. Sorry for the jumbled post above. I'm a bit nervous.

Get over there and see then call and ambulance if you decide she needs it.

That doesn't sound like an overuse of inhalers.
Difficult to make any other comment on what you have said.
perhaps you could give us a more informative post, once you have seen her?

Face: Weakness of facial muscle
Arms: Weakness/unable to life arm/arms
Speech: Incoherent or slurring

and generally how she is compared to when you last saw her.

thanks all for replying - Sqad - I can't give an informative post when I go over there as she has no internet connection.

sorry I couldn't give you more information as she couldn't give me either.

You will know when you see her - my husband knows the difference to me feeling off and me needing an ambulance now!
He has had to call a few over the last year!!

well just in - I am as wise as ever. I looked at her face and whatever you have to do. She just couldn't get maybe in two hours about 3 words out.

She felt better whilst I was there and was happy for me to go. So I told her to ring me if she felt "funny".

She was at the doctor's on Tuesday who said everything was fine etc but sure anything can happen between Tuesday and Friday.

thanks - phoned her just now and she said she feels ok.

I had told her to take something sweet in my thinking her insulin is low - (not diabetic) - but anything is worth a try.

I could never persuade her to go anywhere medically - she would have to do all that on her own terms. I can only be on standby.

I never quite understand JJ. If I sat with a relative who suddenly could only say 3 words in 2 hours I'd have phoned an ambulance but presumably she is now talking fine on the phone? I'd certainly keep an eye on her, which I'm sure you will.

sorry Prudie - my wording wrong again. I meant in 2 hours of talking coherently she forgot about 3 words - but other than that - no slurring, etc. and tonight talking ok on the phone.
