Pre- Cancerous Polyp - My Sister Had A Colonoscopy Today And They Found One
6 Answers
Hi there
I just heard from my sisters partner because I sent her an email and copied him in on it to say that she's resting she had a colonoscopy this morning, it makes sense because i sent her a text last night asking her to ring me and she said she was going to be indisposed all evening. Anyway the colonoscopy has shown up what the doctor doing it described as likely to be precancerous he has removed it. What do they do for precancerous polyps? What I am thinking is its a damn good job she had it done and they found it and she will be quite safe now its out. Am I right ?

Pre-cancerous is a term used by a pathologist who sees changes in the polyp under the microscope that indicates that it is starting to turn nasty.
yes......you are quite correct, now that it is out, she is safe.
HOWEVER if she has many polyps then anyone may change it's character, so she will need lifetime checks.
