To Be Low

do you think it is normal that from day to day you can be sorta ok and then sometimes you begin to think over your life and perhaps worry about your future life - you suddenly become down.
I have had a bad week with teeth problems (again) - went to dentist another replacement - and he cant find dreadful pain in a tooth where I am experiencing like a hole-like hole - he could not find anything and has made arrangements for me to get gum disease in an area where i am not experiencing pain.
I got so stressed about this appointment last Wednesday (never slept at all) went to this dentist (nice enough guy) on the Thursday but has said my teeth were very well looked after but the gums are the problems. i continually asked him about this hole and he couldn't find anything.
When I wear the dentures over the hole my speech becomes sorta incoherent and therefore I don't want to socialise. Was over at sista's today and (she doesn't know) I couldn't get some words out and knew - my mind was saying but the correct words never came out good.
Also on the Thursday after not sleeping on the Wednesday worrying sick about the dental appointment - i took a massive Vertigo attack which left me in bed for 2 days - vomiting and being in bed. just don't know what to do next. Have spent about £4,000 on a variety of different dentures and treatments and really I can't afford much more.
I am booked with this dentist for a perio clean - horrendous for me and so I am going to cancel out - it's not going to clear up this "hole business". Am lost

So I don't want to burden my teeth probs on her cos believe it or nor she worries about me and so I think she has enough to worry about with her own health without worrying about me - and so I feel I have nobody to turn to.
thanks Tony but you don't know the scale of the teeth business - not even the bloody dentist does either.
Not last August 2018 - but August 2017 - I went to 7 dentists in one month - every single one of them suggested a variety of treatments which to me there were no consistent ones and so I had no faith.
I really want to be referred to Hospital Dentist but this wee new dentist just said becuse of getting old 66 - teeth started to recede from the gums (I understand that but what is this pain) The only thing I am "happy" is that he didn't find mouth cancer. I am allieved with that but surely the holy-hole pain could be fixed.

no he did not want to refer me to a dental hospital and I believe it is the only way to get to the hospital via your dentist.
I know doctors won't do it either. There is definitely something wrong as I am in constant pain and cannot wear this front 4 teeth because of pain. I genuinely don't know where I can turn to now.

Sorry to hear how bad you're feeling JJ. This won't help you right at the minute, but, the Royal has a Dental Teaching Clinic which takes in patients on a first come first serve basis. These are senior students observed at all times by experienced dentists. My friend had her crowns successfully done there and my husband had a nightmare agony relieved when he couldn't get an ordinary dentist's appointment. Checked their "page" there, but they only are open during term time. It's something to think about though?
G'evening Jenny......You are liberty to ignore everything I say but it's my belief that we'll still remain good friends.
Don't cancel the appointed which you have with your Dentist. Go along and ask him if perhaps you should have a word with your Doctor. It is my understanding that, if your doctor thinks that there might be an underlying medical factor that is responsible for pains in your gums, he/she can refer you to your local Hospital's Specialists
Dental Section.
Hans.

To Jacmyalpine - I also think it is to do with the nerves in the gums and thank you for answer.

Could be trigeminal neuralgia. It’s the nerves in the gums it’s very painful. My dentist found nothin so had to go docs. I had to take tegratol tablets which eventually did the trick. X
neuralgia.
thanks all - no I wouldn't fall out with you Hanny - I did fall on my face in 2008 and broke my shoulder, ankle and the 4 teeth in question. The 4 teeth at that time were crowns so the accident loosened them but I suffered with the pain for another few years and then only for the private dentists "removing" them - they literally fell out.
Anyway I do try and think of others who are suffering much more and simply get on with it. Like Waterboatman's niece and she has had so much pain - but I have had it pretty good.
Goodnight Hanny and others.
