Is There A Virus Going Round?

Is there a virus doing the rounds or is this something I have picked up via a plane journey? For the last 4 or 5 days I have been feeling ghastly. Unable to get my head off the pillow, snotty, productive cough, stuffy nise and throat, severe headache, high temperature, loss of appetite, all that flu-like stuff. Headache has mostly gone now, and am out of bed and feeling a lot better, but still bunged up and not much of an appetite. And to make matters worse we are staying with friends, so am using their spare room as a sick bay. Just one of those viruses that will go away eventually?

I'd guess it was a virus you picked up on the plane journey.

Mr T had the same symptoms recently after our long haul flight. It took about fifteen days for it to clear up but he is still coughing occasionally.

Yes , it sounds like a virus which you seem to have conquered.
For the blocked nose, just go to the chemist for a Vicks nasal spray and use that for a couple of days or more.

I suffer the same after long haul flights, 3 to 4 weeks is normal until I start to feel better, the usual symptoms, sinuses blocked, cough, headache, tired etc, its just the price I pay for having holidays and getting old!!
