Hi I have just started Councelling Therapy and I thought the Therapist would answer questions and advice but they do not. What is the benefits of Counselling if they do not do this? Would CBT be better or just read CBT books.?Thanks.

Therapists help you to answer questions yourself and don't try to impose their own values or culture.
They guide you to understand your issues, and work through them. You won't always realise when you are being nudged or challenged. Stick with it for a while. A good counsellor can change your life.
