Cat Scratching Chair

Help!
Our three cats have taken a fancy to scratching my new cloth covered super armchair.
Cat repellent spray is £8.50 for 150ml, cheap at the price if it works!
What else can I use?
May hang a sign on the chair :-

Alternatively, just adopt my own approach and let your cats do what they want. (They almost certainly will anyway!). After all, we humans are only guests in houses owned by cats, aren't we?

I don't have a cat, my neighbour does and she just loves to bypass their lovely garden furniture and come over and tear the living daylights out of a bench that was made especially for me, it has been suggested to me, citrus, squeeze and orange all over the bench - ants love that!! and leave the skins around it, didn't work, I watched the cat playing with the skins, I have tried ground white pepper and 'not on my lawn' but nothing deters the little monster - I also heard Lion dung works - might have to pay a visit to the zoo soon ;) I'm not a cat lover so I would be interested to see how you get along
