Sqad, am I ok to use Sudafed Blocked Nose Spray over a long period of time or am I storing up more problems?
I have only been using one spray in each nostril, and only at night, for about a week and feel it not only unblocks my nose but aids a better nights sleep.
I always have a somewhat stuffy and/or runny nose but lately, possibly due to the weather or something, it’s been worse which I why I bought the Sudafed Spray.
Thank you.

I’m not sorry you’re not Sqad, Bednobs ;)
Indefinitely is probably what I mean. I know you’re not supposed to used Sinex for very long, just wondered if this is the same. Don’t want to permanently damage my nasal passages.
Vagus......the official answer to that question is if you use it continuously for more than 3 weeks then you are likely to get what is known as "rebound phenomenon " that is it won't work anymore.

That is the official line.

My answer is that if it relieves your symptoms then use it as long as you wish.

My only proviso is that you have seen an ENT consultant to exclude polyps or other mechanical causes of a blocked nose.

I saw an ENT consultant about five years ago and had a camera shoved up my nose, both nostrils, to see if I had post nasal drip. I didn’t.
Thank you very much for your answer, it’s so helpful to have your expert input.
I wouldn't even use Sudafed spray for more than 4 days. It's great when you are using it but you get rebound rhinitis when you stop using it (that does pass off but you need to go through 'cold turkey' )
