He has had COVID twice before, first time was I’ll. 2nd time just felt slightly rough. Woke up feeling rough today - did a test at home and it’s positive, he’s going to have a peak flow test at 1pm to confirm it/deny it.
Is it possible to catch it THREE times after having all three jabs??

a peak flow will not confirm or deny it!
also when did he last have it - i believe you can still test positive for a good while after

If he's caught it three times I guess it is possible.
Smow I think it's bit like colds (same virus type) and we've all had those all our lives repeatedly. The vaccines are meant to reduce risk but more reduce impact. It's something that will go on for ever probably. Maybe he should think about his lifestyle choices if it worries him, clearly he's catching it somehow.
^ this is true. You can get a false positive for 90 days after, so he may have just tested too soon? I guess different variants maybe? - just hopefully he will not be too affected by it.

And apologies for this thread - just am shocked

AB Editor if possible remove this thread - I shouldn’t have posted another covid thread. Was just so shocked.
Smow, don’t be silly, it’s the scientific ones where there are more experts here about it then anywhere else, you have a family member concern and I was not having a pop at those
Maybe he has what they are calling Long Covid ?
When Mr B recently had it he was told in a phone call from the test and trace not to test for 90 days as he’d probably get another positive result, has 90 days past since he’s had it Smow .

Am trying to find out exactly when he last had it. His flat mate has tested positive this morning too tho.
It’s doesn’t seem 90 days ago Smow which could be a wrong result
He's a young man has he been out partying?
Not that he would admit that to his mother!
My work colleague is on his 4th bout is out most nights living it up whilst he can.

There was a meet up of 8 work colleagues on fri eve . They all took tests that morning, all were negative. One of the colleagues was his flat mate, who also went to a family gathering the same day. Flat mate gets call Sunday saying two people at family do have tested positive. So he tests and is also positive. So then YoungSmow does too……
Aw hard to know how much more you can do sometimes isn't it.
I notice latest advice is that tests should be done immediately before going anywhere as it can change to positive in a few hours. Didn't know that last week though so not much more he could have done.
He has probably had Alpha, Delta and now Omicron. He will probably get Omega too, when it arrives.
hmm interesting use of a pk flow test....
well, no kissy kissy for HIM under the mistletoe this christmas !
so - - - clear on Fri and positive on Monday - --
three day window - - - useful to know, thanks
At least he has not been hospitalised so the jabs must be having some effect.
no editor DON'T erase this thread - useful stuff on how soon you go from negative to contagious
and incredz 48 h - which I wdnt have thought possible
