A "bar conversation" I had on Saturday had me and a a few mates trying to decide which was the the funniest tv sketch ever.

After a lot of arguing, we managed to settle on "Brain Surgery" from That Mitchell & Webb Show (2009).

What would you say (YouTube links would be a bonus so we could all have a watch).

That was one that I put forward...and the queue for the canteen...but I was shouted down.

Imbeciles.

I think you need to rethink your choice of friends, sp.....LoL

Also, I think every single episode of Acorn Antiques would be in the running; glorious comedy moments.

Deaf Mrs Richards in fawlty towers complaining about her hotel room. Classic.

There's a difference between 'funniest sketch' and 'funniest TV moment' - sketch is stand-alone

Pardon me, didn't realise I was doing a exam, thought it was a bit of fun.

Here you go, Barney;

NO, we not allowed, don't meet the requirements, and they wonder why people get put off posting on here, we can enjoy it though Ken.

Yup...I'd also include the Acorn Antiques "documentary" - the one where Mrs Overall and Mr Clifford are sacked.

There will never be a time when "It's a haemorrhoid preparation to be brutally frank, Paul" won't be funny.

Thanks for that sp1814 I'd not seen it before. I used to like the Pete and Dud sketches from the 60's

The timing of the M&W sketch is brilliant.

I believe it is one take, sp

😁

The great thing about Pete & Dud was Dudley Moore corpsing...and Peter Cooke driving the knife in knowing he could wreck him.

So many to choose from - one I caught on FB recently which had me LOL was Sir Les Paterson (Barrie Humphries) as guest on Parkinson.

😂
