Yes I've had it but didn't have any side effects. Didn't stop me getting shingles though but the GP said that having the jab meant I only got a mild case

Yes, had it in the week after I hit 70  (because I'd had Shingles and didn't want it again.... ever).  No side effects.

Last year, Shingles was around - I caught it again, but it was a mild 'off it' for a week disease.  Believe me, full shingles is hellish.  Have the jab.

Yes, I've had it, with zero side effects.

Possible (usually mild) side effects are listed here:

Had the vaccine, no side effects.

Other half had shingles over 6 years ago, still suffers neuralgic pain. Get the vaccine.

I've also had it and had no side effects. A relative had shingles and said it was one of the most painful things she had ever experienced.  I decided that I didn't want to suffer the same fate so had the jab.

I had shingles at aged 18, I was told by the doctor that it is extremely rare to get shingles at such a young age.

Apparently you can catch shingles from being near a child with chickenpox, but I didn't go near any children at that time, so that just makes it even more rare.

I don't think its isolated to just elderly people. It was very painful and on my back, but took 3 weeks to get over it.

And the scar is still there. And now I'm 55.

You can't 'catch' shingles.
It's a reactivationof the virus which causes chickenpox caused by either stress or having a low immune system due to being ill etc.

You have to have had chickenpox at some point in your life to then develope shingles.

Yes I've had the jab, had no reaction to it.

Developed shingles 18 months later, immediately got anti viral meds, and between the jab and the meds got away very lightly with it.

I demanded the jab the moment I was 70. No side effects at all.

Had the Shingrix version,  first dose  just a bit of soreness second dose a bit of a headache and whole arm ached for a couple of days.  Far less than I had from flu vaccine .  It's not shingles per se that I worry about its post heretic neuralgia which can last for months after an attack. Vaccine was a no brainer for me as I was immune suppressed at the time.

I had it years ago, no side effects
