£50 each thanks to the Virgin takeover.

What should we spend it on?

Where's my 50 folding ?

Question Author

We had the emails, the cash will be arriving soon

I was gonna switch to NW last autumn but they said I didn't qualify for the switch bonus so I went to Lloyds instead.

You could use yours towards your tax consultant's bill , Barry😁

Hopefully we'll both get £100 Fairer Share bonus as well later on

I was thinking of something more exciting, Bazile

Something special, like a nice meal out. Something to remember rather than just letting it disappear in the rest of your finances.

Is Nationwide being taken over by Virgin then? I've not heard anything from them and I've been a customer for about 40 years

No, Nationwide has taken over Virgin

...well, it's aquired only Virgin Money.

Question Author

We had emails about the acquisition last year, it was also reported in the press.

Meal out is tempting

Thanks NW, we'll have a breakfast out and tickets to an exhibition, coffee and bus ride home.

Nice day out for you to look forward to 🙂

When we win on the premium bonds, which we do quite regularly, we always make sure that we treat ourselves to a nice meal before we spend the rest of it on fripperies.😀

Actually, any remaining funds go into our savings account.

I thought I'd ditched Nationwide last year when I was disgruntled at not getting the £100 member reward as on the arbitary date they set retrospectively I'd slipped just below the savings threshold.

So I was surprised to get their email today and when I logged in to my account (for the first time in nearly 12 months)  I got confirmation of the £50 dand payment date in April on account of having an open saver with a nil balance.

In that case leave your £50 in there for a couple of months and you might qualify for this years £100.

Is it called Virgin money because its never been used?

Asking for a make believe friend

I see I'm on the wrong track in thinking Nationwide is the name used by a Listener crossword compiler. 🤪
