String burst in Songs of Praise

Hi,

I don't ever watch Songs of Praise but it was on the box two weeks ago and I happened to walk into the room as there was a cut to a particular shot of a church or something, quite short. Anyway, there was a burst of strings that accompanied it, I think a cello judging by the tone of the notes. It was only a few notes, one deep and then one higher with sustain, then possibly repeated maybe an octave higher; quite a tense little piece of music. The thing is that I recognised it, and can't think where I have heard it before. Can anyone help, I know it's a long shot!
