runny nose!!

my nose is running like crazy...this morning,wake up all is fine then all of a sudden my nose is pouring.didnt stopblowing it til about midday.then it cleared up. got back in this eve half hour later same again pouring out my face! this doesnt happen everyday but when it does its just ridiculous...any ideas my friends?

Well my son gets it earlier in the year and my hubby gets it later in year but they both get it through summer as well,dont know exact dates but its something to do with grass pollen,tree pollen and something to do with mushrooms,,,err,well i know what i mean so yeah,could carry on for a while1

hmmm, is your nose congested, or just runny...I honestly cant say I know a ton about different allergies, but I would think hayfever would be accompanied by congestion as well as a runny nose.

Oh! I'm not alone then.....phew!

Mine (identical symptoms) started in January and came and went periodically for 3/4 months.....

Hayfever, go to the chemist and get some PIRITON, take one a day should clear it up.

yeh,just pours like water sometimes other times just loads of mucus...does my head in! go through tons of tissues...maybe i could get sponsered by andrex!

most likely to be a dust mite allergy. Try Flixonase (avaialbel over the counter) or similar nasal spray for a couple of weeks and see if it helps. x

Be careful with nasal sprays - i suffer with rhinitis (?) and was told to use nasal sprays, but becuase I was continually blowing my nose and it was runny the nasal sprays gave me horrendous nose bleeds. When your nose is always running and you blow it a lot, it makes the blood vessels sensitive so then nasal sprays can cause them to bleed!! Take some antihistamine for a week and see how it goes after that!

ktlou...I used to have the same problem (I have many, many fine allergies lol) and had to get my nose cauterised (sp sorry) almost monthly. But strangely, Flixonase didn't adversely affect my nose, and because it reduced the sneezing and nose blowing, the nose bleeds stopped, despite my allergies being still quite severe at times. I never found an anti-histamine tablet that even touched my problem. jay...maybe talk to your pharmacist and see what they reccommend, they usually give very good advice, without the need to see a doc.
