Worn hip
2 Answers
My wife has a worn hip and it has affected her for some three years now. With food supplements (well known to work but not listed on NHS so GPs who would like to cannot prescribe them) she has kept the situation from deteriorating (as others before her have done - that's how she/we found out about the stuff). However, it seems likely that she will need to go for surgery at some point and I would like to start boning up on the record of the different options. Full replacement (as per NHS) is said to last as little as 10 years, then only a second repeat operation is possible: Two strikes and you're out and bedridden for the rest of your days. There are a number of lining options being tried out, I believe, and new things coming out every year. Does anyone have advice on where to go on the net for a good overview and/or getting to a good start on unravelling this thread ? Even books (up-to-date) would be interesting.
