Hi, i have a cat that i have had since he was 4. just recently he has started to pee in the house under the window and in the toilet in exactly the same place each time. Because of the preciseness i assume it is because he can still smell it...(even after bleach and vinegar). Does any one know a how to stop him weeing there and to stop him smelling the smell?? this is urination not scenting... he has a litter tray which he uses and cleaned regually no other cats near apart from our other younger cat who is spayed who does not spray or wee indoors...

thanks in advance x x

I had this problem with my 6 year old female. All of a sudden, she stopped using her litter tray and used to go in an exact spot in the dining room. Turned out that my housemate had used lemon scented kitchen spray to wipe round near her litter tray. Put her right off. So I used the lemon scented spray in the dining room (just squired a liberal amount on the carpet) and soon we were back to normal service!
Cats also need to sniff about before doing a wee so if you sprinkle ground white pepper where he tends to do it, it will put him off.
My dog has got a thing about doing sneaky number twos behind the telly when I'm out (all over the tangle of power leads!). I stopped her doing it by simply keeping the door shut when I'm not there and it works a treat.
My cat suddenly stopped using her litter tray and weeing in the shower cubicle (!) we found out that she was didn't like to her litter tray. We had one of those with a lid on (I think the *smells* got trapped inside) and thought she'd let us know. As soon as we changed the tray she was fine, and the peeing stopped. Your cat may have too taken offence at something you've unknowingly done -they can be funny creatures !
