Im absolutely petrified of the dentist but am also petrified of being knocked out so i was awake the whole time. My dentist gave me some sort of medicine to calm me down though and it made me feel slightly drunk but i was aware of everything. You must be getting a different kind of sedative. On your first visit your tooth will be drilled and your nerve root removed. The root will then be packed and a temporary filling put in. You will then have to return in a few weeks to have the temporary filling removed, the root filling put in and then the tooth itself permanently filled. You always hear horror stories about this procedure but honestly it wasnt as bad as i thought it would be. The first procedure took about a half hour and then the second took about 45 mins. good luck and remember that it'll all be over this time tomorrow.
Hi Wazzaa, it went very well thanks for asking. I had a sedative injection in my arm at the beginning and I have to say that what followed was probably the nicest experience I have ever had. I remember very little about the procedure but I do remember feeling extremley happy. I'm a woos when it comes to pain, did you just have the mouth numbing injections? Have you had route treatment latley?
