Your GP will remove it ... for free.
They do in my surgery anyway......on Tuesday's
we must have the same surgery ...
I once asked my doctor if he could remove a mole from my manhood. He said that he could but he'd have to report me to the RSPCA first...
now see, Ratter would have done that just for fun ... and probably left it in someone's car.
Then gone back and caught it.......
Your GP will only remove it on the NHS if there is a suspicion that it may be malignant, not just for cosmetic reasons (ie because it is hairy - not all hairy moles are dangerous). It would be better to consult a medical expert before having it removed privately, in any case.
PS You might be able to get it removed free if you could prove that it was causing you severe psychological problems, or if it spoiled your chances of work (for example if you're a model). But I have had moles removed and the resulting scar can be worse than the actual unsightly mole, so it would definitely be better to be referred to a reputable clinic...it very much depends on where the mole is and the size, etc.
btw On an alternative health slant, some people say that the hair on a mole should never be plucked or shaved, as the hair is an outlet for the types of 'chi' in the body and that should not be blocked.
bardotagogo ... your GP will remove it if you 'express a concern' about it ...
Naz Nomad, I just got a mental pic of Dave Vanian, do you look like him? I will try not to be hysterical in my GP's surgery, but the last time I went there, she said to me: " You think I'm a really bad doctor, don't you?" and I was so scared I said "No, You are brilliant." I must remember your phrase though...'express a concern'. I am tactless by nature so it should help out quite a bit. Sorry for butting in on your thread Lyn and I hope you can get the mole removed without much scarring. xxx
Not Vanian ... more like 'Moose', although he didn't play with them as 'The Nightmares'
and I must congratulate you on being the first person to ever know what my name was about ... and not assuming I was a ''johnny foreigner''
