Don't mess about with things like that hammerman .
Go to your doctor who will advise you how best to lose weight.
Lots of practices do diet control thingys now.
You are assessed by a practice nurse and given a diet to follow and a weigh in every two weeks .
Doesn't cost you anything .It's one to one with the nurse ..nobody looking you up and down at one of these groups who only want your money and want to flog you their awful ready meals.
I gave up smoking and put on a bit of weight but I have since lost it again .
My weight problem before I gave up smoking was due to an underactive thyroid .Men can get thyroid problems too ....so go and see your doctor. Five stone is an awful lot to have put on just from giving up smoking.
Most people do put it on but it evens itself out after a while once your body has adjusted itself to lack of nicotine.A simple blood test will show if you have thyroid problems and hopefully you don't and your GP will advise you about weight loss.
