can anybody suggest a good antihistimine to take for the dreaded hayfever when it starts in the not too distant future.
Have tried all the usual ones but it is hard to get a good one that does not make you sleepy.

I also take a homoeopathic remedy for hayfever and allergic rhinitis, as and when required. Which I find works well for me and does not make me feel drowsy.
Good luck in finding something that suits you during the hayfeaver season.

Unfortunately you are right in that the better the antihistamine properties the drowsier it makes you. As a last resort I just take the tablets for a couple of days and to hell with the side effects if it gets rid of the constant sneezing and itching etc. etc. That's easy to say if you can hole up for a day or two feeling drowsy so I have been using a nasal spray (Beconase) for a while which seems to help - at least it lessens the irritation. My sympathies are with anyone who is dreading the new hayfever season!
