Trying to conceive and UTI's.
I had a lot of urinary tract infections last year, one severe one over christmas. I went to my doctor who told me, it was probably due to intercourse.
My husband and I have a difficult sex life as it is and so this has basically stopped our sex life as I am terrified of being in pain again with it after having sex.
However, we want to start a family, so obviously need to have sex often. I am really worried about this. I spoke to my GP about it in January and he told me to go and see him to get mild overnight antibiotics whilst trying to conceive, to help prevent any discomfort in the event of getting an infection. My GP also recommended peeing before and straight after intercourse, have a drink and then pee again. Will this affect my chances of getting pregnant? Has anyone experienced UTI's whilst TTC?
Thanks in Advance

I am trying to get pregnant too and this does get in the way of things sometimes but i dont think mine is usually caused by intercourse like you. It just prevents it if i have an infection. I have heard that cranberry capsules are brilliant so have started on these. I also use tee tree oil on my genitals after sex to clean the area. You can use it neat (its the only aromatherapy oil you can use undiluted) and it does sometimes sting a little but is normal. I agree about weeing after sex to clean the uretha. It wont stop you getting pregnant, i have asked my gynea about this. It only hampers the actual process of conceiving! I dont use soap on my privates or any scented stuff. I drink loads of fluids to keep me well flushed. These things occur in batches and im sure it will ease soon. Mine was horrendous a couple of months ago but has eased again now. Good luck x
