Will I still be entitled to INCAPACITY BENEFIT

i have worked for my company for nearly 7 years and due to my company down manning 2 people i was doing the work of 3 people which has caused me now to be off sick for nearly 8 months with severe depression/anxiety and lacking in confidence.
my benefit with the company ssp has now stopped, i am now claiming incapacity benefit.
if i decided to resign from the company, would i still be entitled to claim incapacity benefit?.
