Hi, has anyone got any tried and tested methods for relieving excruciating period pain? I'm looking for natural remedies and methods rather than simply taking painkillers. Many thanks.

i know its not the answer you're wanting but personally when they're really bad i take feminax. have you tried them? they're really strong but get to work straight away and they're not like painkillers you have to keep on taking every few hours, a couple do the trick. other than that, deep heat feels nice and soothing, wear loose clothing, hot water bottle, the usual! try health food shops for natural supplements.

Thanks. I think I'll send the other half out to buy some. I have been popping Nurofen Plus with no effect. It's so bad I was even up at half 6 this morning. Most unlike me!
you can only buy them over the counter tho by the way, you or you're very caring fella need to speak to a chemist to get your hands on some! they have codeine in them, so if you can get hold of anything with that in them then you're on your way! hope you get sorted as its the bank holiday weekend. get you're fella to pamper you. hope you feel better soon:)
Massive brandy and a hot water bottle !!! If you feel up to it lots of exercise too - sounds mad but it works !! x
be really sure you're not constipated.
Orgasm can really help, however you achieve it! (it's the rhymical muscle contractions).
Good luck.
you feelin any better today? i had terrible pain lastnight, i think my womb was sympathising with you lol

The pain is not quite so bad today. Still feel yucky. It's my first one in 9 MONTHS since coming off the pill so you can imagine it's come back with a vengance. Where's the chocolate..........!
Exercise, tea and chocolate helps me.

Just as well I do the exercise too really as I am on at the moment and just in the past three days have had a Bounty, a bag of Maltesers, a Twirl, a Crunchie, chocolate ice cream and am currently graxing on Cadburys Whole Nut.

Periods are crap.
Oh, and keeping warm and toasty. Put your pyjamas on (if you're not already in them) and get cosy.

Exercise really does help too though.
