I once had a hair cut where she used a razor blade (I think) to thin the hair out and give a sharper edge to the bottom of the hair. I live to far away to go back to this hairdresser. The hairdresser I use at the moment doesn't do this and I wondered if most hairdressers can do this or just some. My hair is so thick I need some of it thinning down!!
I have very thick hair too legal girl & my hairdresser slices into it downwards with her very sharp scissors! It gives me the effect I'm looking for & makes it look nice & sleek.
Hope that helps....
P.S. My hair is a shoulder length, long layered bob. It's naturally med/dark brown, but as I'm starting to get a few grey hairs, I've just had some caramel hightlights (foils) put in, which blends in nicely.
P.P.S. Apart from slicing through my hair with scissors (which I like), my hairdresser has also used thinning scissors, but I wasn't too keen on that result.
hi im a hairdresser- the mojority of hairdressers should be able to do this, it is similar to scissor cutting,, just obviously with a different tool. alhtough some hairdressers may not feel comfortable with it if they dont have enough experience. ask her to slice it with her scissors otherwise. hope this helps!
