Medication on a flight

I suffer from migrains and have injections for them. Will I be allowed to take them on the plain in my hand luggage? A friend of mine said I'd have to get a letter from my Doctor.

The rules on cabin baggage are common to all departures from EU airports, irrespective of the airline or destination. They're available on the Department for Transport website. Here's the relevant quote:
"Passengers are permitted to carry through airport security medical equipment essential for use during the period of their trip. Where possible the equipment should be contained within the ONE item of cabin baggage and again should be accompanied by supporting documentation from a relevant qualified medical professional."

my husband is insulin dependant, he carries in hand luggage his insulin with ice packs to keep cool and a letter from the GP [ which he has never been asked to produce so far] and a copy of his presciption to show it is prescribed for him.We travel rather a lot on long distance flights.
