Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

I have Carpal Tunnel syndrome due to a thyroid problem which I'm seeing the doc about. The numbness is not too bad really, I'd say I've got about 75% feeling in the little finger, ring finger, and part of the palm of my left hand. I sometimes get aches or pains in my arm and wrist which is causing me more discomfort than the numbness. It's not causing me too many problems really, but it does get worse if I don't use my arm. I'm seeing the Doctor about it soon, but I just wanted I just wondered if any other AB'ers could give me any advice or tell me their experiences ?

I am 62, I had this a couple of years ago. A steroid injection seems to have done the trick. No more pins and needles. Good luck.

When I first started drumming I had carpal tunnel, I was given a supportive glove to wear and some anti inflammatory tablets.
It took a few months to fully go away.

I suffered from this a few years ago on both wrists.
I had an operation on both wrists, 12 weeks in between each operation.
It did help a bit, but starting to get bothered slightly with it again. Quite uncommon for it to re-occur after and operation.
Hope it gets better after seeing your GP.

My husband has carpal tunnel syndrome and wears a support brace on his affected hand at night. It really helps him. Boots sell them.

I woke up with a hangover one morning last year, and my hand had gone numb. Thought I'd had a stroke and had to ask wife if my face was strange looking. The reply was that it always had been but that she'd married me for me money. Anyway had to go to the docs in the end and I had damaged two of the three tendons (or nerves cant remember) in my hand and it took about two months for them to recover and the feeling come back.

Just want to say that i had this when I was pregnant, and it was most uncomfortable. I hope you soon feel a lot better.
