well tell them to get some up to date equipment, the newer machines are right before you and you see the readings immediately. If you have any level of understanding of your own health issues then you will know if yoiur BP is wrong as soon as it registers.. it is better that you get told now rather than wait til you drop in the street.
ask what the reading is, it's your blood pressure after all. if it's consistantly too high then you will need to have some medication to bring it down. as dot says, better to know and do something about it, than not know and have a stroke or something even worse.
there is a protocol your doctor has to follow if you have a number of high blood pressure readings.
I'm sure if your blood pressure was too high or too low they would tell you. You would probably then be asked to speak to your GP for further advise &/or medication.

Good luck.
I would agree with Smudge. They often don't tell people their blood pressure if there are no problems. I presume it's because they assume the actual BP figures won't mean a lot non medical people. They will tell you if it's high and probably make you another appointment to have it checked again. If it is still high you will be referred to your GP.

So don't worry!
