In my experience it is not always diagnosed correctly. I had lifelong problems with my repro system and eventually opted for a hysterectomy, which was offered to me for the asking should a final drug treatment not work.

I was diagnosed as suffering from a few different things including endometriosis but after my hysterectomy and removal of a diseased ovary I was told endometriosis was hardly present at all.
