I think the mouthwash is okay but I have some of the gel to use on my gums and my dentist told me that overuse can cause staining. I don't worry too much as the part of gum is right at the back and the tooth isn't visible.
Not sure about that particular product, but I used a Corsodyl mouthwash for a week for a gum infection (prescribed by my dentist) and now my teeth are a horrible shade of brown and no amount of brushing or flossing or descaling has had any effect - be careful!
I tried Cordosyl once and I found it seemed to deaden my tastebuds!! lol.
I now use the alcohol free Dentyl mouth wash, I find the blue one is the best tasting, and I think its great. Its a bit pricey mind (3.99 ish) so I wait till there's an offer on in the supermarket and stock up.
Mouthwashes do NOT attack the enamel of your teeth and they should not be diluted (as they are already at their respective therapeutic concentrations)
Mouthrinses containing fluoride (as the new corsodyl daily defence does) strengthens enamel
The 'original' corsodyl was designed and marketed to help in the treatment of gum and periodontal disease the new one contains the active ingredient chlorhexidine (like the original) but in a much lower concentration (however it also contains fluoride whereas the original does not).
It's likley then that this new formualtion is siuitable for people with 'ginigivitis' or mild gum disease
IceMaiden may I ask...where do you get this stuff from???
I mean common sense alone should tell you that dentists and other healthcare profesionals are not going to recommend using a product that actually damages your teeth (at least they shouldn't).
