Woke up this morning and couldn't move due to pain in left side of chest. No sweating, nausea so think it was some kind of cramp. I couldn't move either way, could breathe but not deeply and just waited. All of a sudden I could move again. I'm presuming it's just a kind of cramp. I'm 53 but quite physically fit female. Anyone else expereince this?

Sounds a bit like hiatus hernia.... but maybe not! Crampoing chest pains doesn't sound good though, go to your doctors on tuesday or maybe ring NHS direct. You could always get sent for an ultrasound just to check that you are ok, or NHS direct might want you to go to hospital today for a trace to check you are ok now!
