Not the biological father?
10 Answers
I'm one of 10 and our ages range from 35 to 64. Our (dead) parents and 8 siblings are all the same - very short, squat, black haired & olive skinned. Me & one brother are very tall, fair etc. We've always put it down to a distant Scandanavian heritage. At the weekend my (fair) brother & eldest sis were having a blazing row when she threw in the comment me & him were not dad's kids. My brother is distraught & big sis won't elaborate further. I'm not bothered but he's got the bit between his teeth about it.

I suspect that there have been amiable family jokes about you two looking different - it happens (think about the milkman jokes) . She might have just said it as she knew it was the most hurtful thing she could have said to him at the time.
It could be that you and your brother just look different to your siblings. My Mum was one of 6 kids and 4 of them had dark brown to black hair, brown eyes and were inclined to be on the chubby side. My Mum and one of her brothers were both blond/e, to the point of almost being white, with grey eyes, and were very slim. It was always noted that my Mum and the brother she looked like took after my Grandads Mothers family, whereas the other kids obviously took after another side of the family. Oh - and there was 18 years difference between my Mum and this brother, and my Grandparents had moved to a different town by the time my Mum was born, so I think it highly unlikely that my Grandma had an affair which resulted in these two children!
