I've been suffering with dizzyness since last Friday. Last weekend was bad as I was feeling nauseous and had stomach pains as well (just to clarify it was not a toilet related issue). Monday was bad as well as I had ringing in my ear and a thick/heavy head. All the symptoms have gone away apart from the dizzyness which comes and goes during the day. I have booked an appointment with my doctor tomorrow morning but I was just wondering if anyone else has been feeling like this lately. Maybe there is a weird virus going round.

And before anyone suggests it I'm 99.9% certain that I'm not expecting.

Possible Tinnitus!
Vertigo!
Migraine?
Tinnitus and vertigo are symptoms not diseases. Could be anything, but put your money on:
1) Virus infection.
2) Menieres Disese.....as a 20-1outsider.

Thank you for all your answers.

I've never had migraine before and I very rarely suffer with headaches. I don't think its migraine.

I will look up Menieres disease.
Question Author
It could be Menieres disease although my hearing is fine.
Leave off the computer for 24hrs and see how you feel then. The on-screen focus for the eyes can set up headaches.

I wonder how many people on here have repetitive syndrome probs so complained of in a working environment?
There's a virus going around here (Derbys) that's causing the symptoms you describe...it's one of those annoying things, just when you feel better it comes back again :o(
I would say a virus infection. Viruses can cause a plethora of passing conditions. One morning cycling to work I was overcome with dizziness and blurring of vision, really bad. It was terrifying. The worst over, and chatting to my sister, it turned out she had had exactly the same thing.

Also, a wonderful philosophical truth, sometimes in life things just hurt.

I was thinking that as well. I haven't been online at home very much recently. In fact this evening is the first time in ages I've been on here longer than half an hour. I do use a terminal at work though. 90% of my work is computer based.

You are probably right Robinia. I did have a cold a few weeks ago, recovered from that then I get this! Lol

I think there is definitely something doing the rounds Whiffey.
mmm...if i was a betting lady, i'd put my money on labyrinthitis - a virus which settles in youe ears and causes sickness, nausea and tiredness, too. makes you feel like you have been in the pub and had a few (but without the fun!). not great after a couple of weeks - it gets very boring! good luck x def go to gp's, though hun...

Off to the docs tomorrow morning stone. I just wan this dizzyness to go away. Its horrible when I'm trying to work. don't mind so much at home though.
I'd have said maybe labyrinthitis/ear infection with the symptoms, maybe an infection or virus which inflamed your ears and set it off.

Meniere's is evil, both me and my mum have it and they tend to treat labyrinthitis with similar kinds of medication (eg stemetil or betahistine) or antibiotics if there is any infection (they should look in your ears to check for any redness or other signs of infection or any fluid in your ears).

Take it easy as labyrinthitis can be a pain to get rid of. Ginger can be good for general nausea like ginger beer or ginger tea. Avoid things like lifts, escalators and alcohol which can make the dizziness worse. Also avoid sodium as much as possible eg salt.

Some of the menieres pills I have treat the sickness as well.

Get a general checkover though and have your blood pressure checked as mine is low generally and when it dips even lower can be very dizzy with it.

Hope you're feeling better soon x

Thank you Jenna. My ears don't hurt and they are not blocked which is a good sign I guess.
