Hi,

Why are my breast so painful just before my period is due?

Exact cause is unknown. Oestrogen is high in the first part of the premenstrual period and then progesterone takes over, preparing the uerus for the arrival of the ovum. Both hormone levels drop rapidly before menstruation , so whether or not it is the action of either or both hormones on the breast or even if it is the rapid fall of hormone levels causing painful breasts is unclear.

Then again I couldn't have put it better myself lol. My partner has the same problem to get very painful boobs just before her period is due. On the down side my god does she get moody ha-ha.

I have no real answer to this but my boobs feel most sore just around ovualtion. Then usually not so sore around the time of my period. Mine don't even hurt when I get pregnant to start with when most peoples do.
