can my dr prescribe a pill to help lower cholesterol. have cut out all fat products months ago. have no eggs , have a small amount of feta cheese sometimes. eat loads of fruit and veg, and get a long walk each day, thanks for any advice.

They have Plant Sterols in them and are said to help along with diet. I have Pro-Active each morning and I have made the changes needed to my diet, which seems to have worked for me. Mine was down to 4.6 last time it was checked from about 6. Good Luck.
Claybury, a little more needs to be known about your cholesterol. Total blood cholesterol is made up of:
1) High Density Lipoproteins........good cholesterol.
2) Low Density Lipoproteins.........bad cholesterol.
If your HDL is high...don�t worry as some experts feel that they
PREVENT heart attacks.
If you LDL is high then you MIGHT need statins.
Ask your Dr. for a breakdown of your total cholesterol levels
