I'm watching a programme on Bravo about people around the UK who go on regular extreme drinking binges.

How many people here would say, honestly that they have a drink problem?

How many units of Alcohol do you get through per week?

If you do feel you have a problem, are you at all concerned about the longterm effects?

I must admit that I drink far too much,
Probably in excess of 80 units per week,
But at my age, I don't think i will worry about long term effects,
It does not make me nasty, sometimes very silly.
But who cares, I do not drink and drive,
My daughter said to me last week,
"Do you know how long alcohol stays in your bloodstream dad?"
I said ,well mines been there about fifty years now.
booze britain very interesting programme watching people makes fools of them self,

Codger, I'm presuming you are male and 80 units of Alcohol is way over the odds, according to the experts.

The Government recommendations is about 14 units per week for women and 21 for men.

Are you concerned that you may not be around for your kids or grandchildren over the next 10 years or so? Do you have a really huge waistline at all?

I know how you feel Daisy. My father was drinker from the age of 11 back in the Caribbean, where his staple diet was West Indian Strong rum.

I rarely remember a time during my childhood and latter years where he wasn't drunk. He would drink 2 litres of Old England sherry per day and the alcohol eventually cost him his life at 73.

I've never been interested in drinking and don't like the taste of alcohol. I did have a drink (first for about a year) at a posh cricket do last Friday, but watered my 2 glasses of Champagne down with Orange juice.
hee hee zig .
sometimes i wish i did zig LOL.
i must have a word with your sisters shanx

see if i can sort them out for you lol
its so sad Velvetee that alcohol gets a strong grip on people. My ex was offerd counseling and support but didnt take it, broke my heart when we split up but my boys must come first. I like a southern comfort or whiskey while unwinding but never drink infront of them.
the bloody cheek of them you wouldnt believe zig .:(
