Black line down middle of tongue

Hi, my 1 year old granddaughter has a black thin line down the middle of her tongue has been like it now for approx a week, we thought at first she may have picked something up and put in her mouth, but not now after so long, does anyone have any thoughts of what this could be? Thanks

never heard of such a thing. A quick call to NHS direct may give the answer.
certainly a trip to see the GP would.

It could be a fungal infection similar to thrush.
Take her to the doc and get it sorted out.

Yes, infections can sometimes produce this blackness of the tongue, but your granddaughter needs a check-up. Hope it soon clears up.
