Does this exist for the removal of nasal polyps and if so can it be used under the NHS?

I agree with mamyalynne.....many things can be done to nasal polyps, but laser treatment is not one of them. Are you sure that you are talking about nasal polyps?
Hi there, what exactly are nasal polyps and do they cause snoring?
Nasal polyps are swellings of the lings of the nose. They are benign and the causes are unknown. They MAY be associated allergy and they MAY be associated with infection.
Rarely..very rarely are malignant.
Snoring is caused by many factors of which nasal polyps is certainly on of them.

Congrats velvetee....he is a luck guy.

You certainly know when you have them. They are like small cherries hanging from your nostrils preventing you from breathing through your nose, Your sense of smell goes and even your ability to taste. As said above are result of an allergy, and than can be anything. Polyps also grow in the colon which sometimes causes blood to be discharged. Also the polyp forms because of pressure in the nose such as a cold and extends the nasal lining.
Hiya. I had nasal polyps removed last year. Mine were not visible at all. It started with feeling bunged up all the time, and hubby said snoring was getting worse and worse. I had all the tests for allergy but nothing showed up. I had polyps removed in January 07 and I've just lasted 18 months and one has come back now. Its only small and I am not going to have the op until absolutely necessary. Unfortunately, my ENT surgeon did warn me that they often come back in time. Good luck Rov - I hope you are lucky and yours never return.

Dollie, I'm not new to polyps occurring as I had them removed 20 years ago and was also told they may come back, which they have with a vengeance after suffering a heavy cold. I'm surprised yours have reappeared so soon. Before considering any operation ask your GP for a steroid nasal spray which is suppposed to shrink them.
